Warm and Cool Mist Ultrasonic Tower Humidifier is rated out of 5 by 39.Rated 5 out of 5 by Dmm883 from Well worth it! I have been using this humidifier for about 2 months now. My previous humidifier died last year and I bought this one knowing exactly what I wanted/ didn't want. I am very happy with this model. I wanted a humidifier that would have both cool and warm mist, have a shut off feature, have a large enough tank for water, and not have annoying cartridges. This model has everything I wanted. I especially like the digital display that tells you the humidity level. You can set the humidity level as well so that when it has been reached it will shut off. I am breathing easier, and all the winter heat dryness has disappeared since I got this!Date published: 2016-12-12Rated 5 out of 5 by Harry from This really helped with putting This really helped with putting moisture back in the air. The winter time makes it very dry in the house and this really helps us sleep more soundly. We wake up far more refreshed. We like the timer feature and it is extremely quiet. They state that the tank lasts 'up to 60 hours'. That must me on the lowest output setting. We can get right at 16 hours at the highest setting. Not a problem though. I don't really trust the handle so I carry it upside down until I get to the base. This also helps keeping drops of water from escaping onto the floor. can't stress enough how quiet it is. Just bought a second unit for downstairs.Date published: 2014-12-28Rated 5 out of 5 by Tanya from Looks AND functions great! I LOVE this unit ... it looks soo much better than all the rest I've seen and I've had it for a year now - very quiet, stays on for as long as It's supposed to, turns off when It's supposed to etc. Yes, you do have to refill it a lot, but that's just the nature of any humidifier; same with the cleaning issue I read on one review. I get sinus migraines very easily - running this every night during the super dry Portland, OR air helps minimize them GREATLY! I only saw these reviews because I had to look up the model number so that I can replace the tank's cap (somehow lost it in a move recently).Date published: 2016-01-06Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from I just read most of I just read most of the reviews. The machine is totally awesome. Quiet, except of course if your running it on warm mist then you'll hear the sound. How do you think the machine is suppose to produce the mist without the water passing thru? As far as the machine turning off after one day. Try a different outlet. The same thing happened to me and I plugged back into the original outlet I had it in and works fine. The amount of water used is dependent upon the amount of mist you put out and how long you run it. I use a gallon a day. I am disabled and stay in the room with the humidifier. I just think you people are crazy or haven't done the work to figure it out. I'm buying another one and will continue to buy this product. Grow up people!!!!!!!Date published: 2015-03-02Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Efficient Quiet Long Lasting My wife and I have had two ultrasonic tower humidifiers for about four years now. We have had many other brands and styles over the years (we just celebrated our fiftieth anniversary). These units have been quiet, reliable and do a good job with no breakdowns so far. Many problems develop from use of tap water, which we learned from previous humidifier experience, so we always used distilled water. The sleek design is a real space saving plus. We always use the timer and never let it run dry. We have spent more on other units that did not last as long or work as efficiently.Date published: 2016-12-09Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from Barely used, Will not Stay on Bought this at the end of winter earlier this year when our old humidifier went out. We didn't open it to use it until now. No matter what setting is used, the machine shuts off after less than 15 minutes of operation. We have always had the demineralization cartridge in it and we even cleaned per the manual even though it is basically new. We have filtered and softened water so there shouldn't be a hard water issue. The store will not take it back because we bought it in February. They don't carry the model anymore for an exchange. So we are stuck with an expensive humidifier that only runs about 10-15 minutes at a time. Will definitely look for a different brand to replace this thing and any future devices we purchase.Date published: 2017-11-08Rated 1 out of 5 by Gord from Beyond Awful Brought this home and it proceeded to leak all over my floor. Total manufacturing defect. The plastic top is not properly sealed (when i turn it upside down it drips). This allows the pressure to normalize in the tank allowing the water to overflow. Just bad manufacturing. Not worth a dollar let alone the retail price. Aside of this the beeping is loud and interface is wonky.Date published: 2018-02-23Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous from We got this for our We got this for our nursery. Initially, we loved it. We had bought (and returned) two others, but this seemed to be perfect because of how quiet it was. However, after about 7 months of intermittent use, it is so incredibly loud that we have to either not use it or spend time pulling out the water tank and trying to readjust. Usually we can get it running on a quieter level after some time of stopping, adjusting, and restarting, but sometimes it is so loud we go without. Very disappointing because the features are great.260Date published: 2014-11-23

The humidifier keeps shutting off! WhyMine keeps shutting off too.Date published: 2018-05-23
My humidifier is running but is not making any mist. Yes, the tank is full of water. On the inside bottom of the humidifier (with the water container removed) you will see a white, round circle set into the bottom. Very gently wipe this with a 'cue tip' swap. Don't press hard, or you can ruin the white filter. As you gently wipe the white filter you will likely see it clear. I wipe/clean ours about every 3rd fill and it works great! Hope that this works for you!Date published: 2018-05-13
How often and by what process does this unit need to be cleaned?Cleaning and care instructions can be found on page 9 of the user manual, you can visit the user manual at the link below. http://www.homedics.com/media/documents/homedics/instructionbooks/UHE-WM85_IB.pdfDate published: 2018-05-18
Should the humidifier stop blowing out air as well as moisture when it has reached the set humidity? It seems strange to be blowing out cold dry air, when that is unwanted....
What is the correct water level for the water tank? The water overflows and spills on the floor when the water tank is full.
Where can I get more demineralization cartridges for the HoMedics® Warm and Cool Mist Ultrasonic Tower Humidifier?
How to use the deminerialization cartridge?
Both the cool and warm mist seem to be the same temperature. Should there be much difference, or does mine have a fault? One of the reasons I chose this humidifier was for the warm air.
