Rated 2 out of 5 by from Loved the first day I loved this humidifier the first day. I cleaned it like instructed and used next day and like another individual stated it will work for 20 minutes then it stops so I have to pull the tank up. I end up getting up in the middle of the night and keep doing this. I clean tank out everyday thoroughly and keep the membrane clean and make sure I have no contact with the membrane with my fingers as instructed. I have pushed on the spring several times and even thought the filter was causing blockage. I�۪m giving it a couple more days if it continues I am returning. It. It was such a good one but that was short lived.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mold & foul smell I used this in my newborns nursery to help w her nose congestion. This humidifier is not easy to clean at all. The inside of the tank is impossible to scrub and mold/slime quickly builds up. It wasn’t even a month after I started using it that I noticed a “wet rag” smell. This is despite following all the cleaning instructions on the manual. To make matters worse, I called Homedics to order a replacement tank (since you can’t clean the mold off) and was told I’d receive it in 2-3 weeks. When I called 2 weeks later for an update, they said they didn’t have the tanks in stock and had “no idea” when they’d be getting them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from DRIP DRIP SOUND Very excited to try out this humidifier. It looks great. Easy to fill. Clean and transparent. The cold-mist is whisper quiet BUT, the only issue I have is that the unit makes a dripping sound all night! I use a sound machine throughout the night and it still doesn't drown out the drip, drip sound of the humidifier. I've tried it three times now and each time, I wake in the middle of the night to turn it off. I'm disappointment because I would really like to keep it, but will have to return it if I can't figure out a way to minimize the dripping sound. If the unit were not being placed in a bedroom, I guess the dripping sound wouldn't be an issue.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesnt stay on Purchased this model on 2.8.18 from BB and B. Bedroom was super dry due to radiator heat and causing all kinds of sinus issues. The unit Worked from 3pm to 8pm with no issue. Thought it shut off because of a built in humidistat but this unit doesnt have one and my stand a lone humidistat said the room was at 20%. Emptied, cleaned and refilled base and reservoir and it worked for 20 min and shut off. It now comes on randomly or when the tank is lifted manually. If this is a defect of this model why not discontinue it? I chose this model because of the vapor output and tank size now it must be replaced as I cant get up in the middle of the night to troubleshoot the unit when I need it the most and thats while sleeping.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not worth the money First off, the description of this product is incorrect. It is anything but whisper quiet. The motor is very noisy and has been since the day it was purchased and has only gotten worse. I haven�۪t even had it a full year! I love the design and that the tank holds so much water, but have found out from daily use, it needs to be dried out and cleaned EVERY day or it starts to get moldy. There�۪s got to be better humidifiers out there than this. Don�۪t waste your money!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Would like some tips/help? This product worked great for about a year for me and now it is randomly shutting off— similar to some of the complaints I see below. I’m not sure how long it runs for, but I’ve woken up at multiple different times and it is no longer dispensing mist even though I still have it turned on. Why is this occurring? Is there a way to fix it? It was pricey compared to other options, so I really would expect better quality.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Tank fills base with water. I bought this today at Lowe's, brought it home, read all instructions, and filled tank. When I turned tank over to install, it gurgled and a lot of water (not a small amount as the manual says) drained from the tank into the base. I'm talking at least 8 ounces, maybe more. The lid to the tank is on tightly. What is the problem? Help! It works and is quiet, but I'm worried about all of that water in the base.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Awesome Mist Whem iIt Rins Having the same issue as another customer where the unit shuts off after a short period of time. I have cleaned mine daily after every use. Never touched membrane, as instructed and followed step by step but still shuts off. I�۪m so disappointed because it does have an awesome mist. I literally have followed instructions and did all troubleshooting suggestions. Returning and going to get another brand.

I bought this humidifier and it’s been working great.  Now it stops no mist coming out. I have to turn off and turn back on for it to start again and then the  Mist will start again.  Is there something wrong with it?  First one I bought leaked!

How to clean for storage

Before Storing: Clean the Tank, Tank Cap, Reservoir and the Ultrasonic Membrane with a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water. Be sure to rinse and let all parts dry completely before storing. Cleaning instructions for storage can be found on page 9 of the user manual.

Why aren't there replacement tanks available to purchase for this model? Would there be another tank model that would be compatible? Mine cracked and does not work anymore. I would rather replace the tank than get a whole new unit.

What type of health issues are related to the white dust released by the ultrasonic humidifier

Use of high mineral content hard water may cause a white mineral residue to accumulate on surfaces in the room near the humidifier. The mineral residue is commonly called “white dust.” The higher the mineral content (or, the harder your water is), the greater the potential for white dust. The white dust is not caused by a defect in the humidifier. It is caused only by minerals suspended in the water. The HoMedics demineralization cartridge will help reduce the potential for white dust, a deposit of minerals left behind from using hard water in your humidifier.
