TotalComfort™ Humidifier is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 77.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great~ Dry air in house so this TotalComfort humidifier was badly needed. Hubby no longer wakes up with a dry throat and no more bloody noses.. Love that you can decide what amount of mist comes out. It is the perfect size for our bedroom. Was a great little catch for us.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Puts out a lot of water vapor Works great, puts out a lot of water vapor, on the higher settings. It also doesn't use a lot of water. We filled it up and kept it on during the day, moving it back and forth between high and low. It took three days to have to refill it. It's also really quiet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use This humidifier is easy to use and refill. The large capacity will allow you to use it on the high setting overnight without having to refill it. The dial makes it easy to use and operate with icons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this humidifier! I live in an area where allergies are prevalent, and therefore a humidifier is key. Further, I have a near four year old daughter and colds therefore run rampant in our house. I love this humidifier -- gentle noise, easy to clean, and very sleek looking. Everything you could want in one!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not quiet Homedics Total Comfort Humidifier looks good and does its job but Its not whisper quiet as it claims. It produces good amount of mist. Very easy to use but difficult to clean. I use it in my bed room as it gets dry at night.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eases your sinuses This is a stylish unit! I've wanted a humidifier to ease the sinuses of my allergy suffering kids. The first night they used it they woke up feeling so much better. My teen son gets nosebleeds often and after using this humidifier for the past several weeks he hasn't had a single episode. The unit itself holds just over a liter which lasts almost 3 days. You can control the amount of mist to your needs. It has a built in night light useful in younger kids rooms. The unit is lightweight and sturdy built. Favorite feature is how quiet it is. You don't even know it's running.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works good I’ve been using the humidifier about a week and so far it seems to be working good. The only downside it that it uses the water fast. Not so much that it’s really worth complaining about though. I can definitely notice a difference in the air (I put it in my bedroom). I like that it’s very quiet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome humidifier with great extras We absolutely love this humidifier i can tell the difference from the ones you find at walmart. I always use one for me and my son and i really never knew the other ones didnt work very well until i used this one. You wake up refreshed and feeling good not all dried out and tired. I like that it also has a nightlight built in. It can run for about 2 days i absolutely love it.

Q & A

How do I clean the inner tube...there is mold settled there and I was able to clean all of the humidifier unit other then the tube that the mist comes out from. Don't want to breath that in! Thank you!

Asked by: Eze123
Thank you for your question. We recommend cleaning the mist tube with a 50/50 vinegar and water solution. You can use a soft, flexible brush or pipe cleaners to help remove build up from the tube and mist spout. We would also recommend using distilled water to avoid future build up. . I own a total comfort humidifier and use a ultra sonic deminalizer. At end of season there is a black build up in the tank. How can I dissolve this layer is there a way to open the tank for washing.

Asked by: tiger
It is not recommend to use any additives in the humidifier. TO CLEAN THE TANK Remove the water tank from the humidifier base by lifting it from the main unit. Unscrew the tank cap and rinse inside the tank with clean water. To remove any scale or build up, use a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and lukewarm water to clean the inside of the tank. TO CLEAN THE ULTRASONIC MEMBRANE Empty, rinse and dry the ultrasonic membrane and the reservoir before refilling. Pour a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water on the surface of the ultrasonic membrane and in the reservoir, then soak for five minutes. Brush clean with a soft-bristle brush and rinse. TO CLEAN THE SURFACE Clean the surface of the unit with a clean damp soft cloth as often as needed.

How do I fill this with water?

Asked by: Jode
Grasp tank handle and lift up from humidifier base.Turn the tank upside down—remove the tank cap by turning it counter-clockwise. Fill the water tank with clean, cool (not cold) water. We recommend using distilled water if you live in a hard water area. Never add essential oils into the water tank. Even a few drops will damage the unit. Replace the tank cap by turning clockwise until tight.Install the tank back on the base of the unit. Make sure the tank is firmly seated. Your humidifier is ready for use.

My unit whistles and the motor of the unit runs (fairly loudly) even if I don't turn on the humidifier. It's been cleaned several times per the instructions provided with the unit. The unit is only 2 years old and it's been cared for. What's wrong?

How do I use it

Asked by: Audrey Midgette
Place humidifier on a firm, flat surface. A waterproof mat or pad is recommended for use under the humidifier. Never place it on a rug or carpet, or on a finished floor that may be damaged by exposure to water or moisture. Grasp tank handle and lift up from humidifier base. Turn the tank upside down—remove the tank cap by turning it counter-clockwise. Fill the water tank with clean, cool water. We recommend using distilled water if you live in a hard water area. Add the demineralization cartridge into the tank. Replace the tank cap by turning clockwise until tight. Install tank back on the base of the unit. Make sure the tank is firmly seated. Plug unit in to a 120 volt AC electrical outlet. Turn the mist adjustment knob clockwise to turn the unit on. Mist adjusts from Lowest output to Highest output. To increase the mist output, turn the MIST adjustment knob clockwise. To decrease mist output, turn the MIST adjustment knob counter-clockwise.Turn the knob counter clockwise until it clicks to turn it off.

my humidifier shoots out air but not mist. help please.

Asked by: cole
We would recommend cleaning the humidifier: TO CLEAN THE TANK Remove the water tank from the humidifier base by lifting it from the main unit. Unscrew the tank cap and rinse inside the tank with clean water. To remove any scale or build up, use a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and lukewarm water to clean the inside of the tank. TO CLEAN THE SURFACE Clean the surface of the unit with a clean damp soft cloth as often as needed. You can also try to remove the water tank from the base and turn the tank upside down. Press and release the spring loaded valve in the center of the tank cap (it looks like a button) about 15 - 20 times. Reseat the tank onto the base of the humidifier. If this does not resolve the issue, please return the humidifier to the place of purchase for a replacement or contact Consumer Relations at 1-800-466-3342 Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. EST for assistance.
