Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Cool Air Humidifier This humidifier, purchased directly from HoMedics was less expensive than what Bed, Bath and Beyond was selling this for (even with a 20% discount). The humidifier went for two days (slow speed) on a tank of water that is easy to remove and fill. We are very happy with this purchase.

Do you need to use distilled water?

Distilled water is recommended. If you are not using distilled water, we recommend using a demineralization cartridge inside the water tank.

Dear Homedics, I've been using this for one year and it's been great. However, dust pile within it and is impossible to clean out. The compartments cannot be taken apart. No brush fits through its thin opening. Please advise.

I have a brand new one but it keeps shutting itself off, no timer on it

Remove the water tank from the base and turn the tank upside down. Press and release the spring loaded valve in the center of the tank cap (it looks like a button) about 15 - 20 times. Reseat the tank onto the base of the humidifier. If this does not resolve the issue, please return the humidifier to the place of purchase for a replacement.
