TotalComfort™ Humidifier is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 57.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stopped working after less than a year! Bought this humidifer a little less than a year ago and it has already stopped working. We cleaned the unit as instructed regularly, but now the unit will turn on and you can hear it working but there is no mist coming out. Very disappointed. Would not purchase this one again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stopped working after a month of use Bought this product a few months ago for daily use in my bedroom. It has stopped working completely. For a unit that is so expensive, I thought I would be getting a quality product. Now searching for a new one to get me through the rest of the winter. Disappointing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Can’t clean! I’ve had the humidifier for two months. It functions really well in terms of output and mist but is impossible to clean. I cannot get to the mold in the tube, even with the suggested pipe cleaner and vinegar methods. Running a humidifier filled with mold defeats the purpose of this unit! Very disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Homedics cool mist humdifier This product works fine when there is not a mold buildup or slime residue on the interior of the feed tube. This is a poor design that does not allow disassembly and cleaning of an area natural prone to mold due to moisture. Cleaning as instructed does not my opinion prevent the problem. Would never buy again.

How do I fill this with water?

Asked by: Jode
Grasp tank handle and lift up from humidifier base.Turn the tank upside down—remove the tank cap by turning it counter-clockwise. Fill the water tank with clean, cool (not cold) water. We recommend using distilled water if you live in a hard water area. Never add essential oils into the water tank. Even a few drops will damage the unit. Replace the tank cap by turning clockwise until tight.Install the tank back on the base of the unit. Make sure the tank is firmly seated. Your humidifier is ready for use.

My unit whistles and the motor of the unit runs (fairly loudly) even if I don't turn on the humidifier. It's been cleaned several times per the instructions provided with the unit. The unit is only 2 years old and it's been cared for. What's wrong?

How do I use it

Asked by: Audrey Midgette
Place humidifier on a firm, flat surface. A waterproof mat or pad is recommended for use under the humidifier. Never place it on a rug or carpet, or on a finished floor that may be damaged by exposure to water or moisture. Grasp tank handle and lift up from humidifier base. Turn the tank upside down—remove the tank cap by turning it counter-clockwise. Fill the water tank with clean, cool water. We recommend using distilled water if you live in a hard water area. Add the demineralization cartridge into the tank. Replace the tank cap by turning clockwise until tight. Install tank back on the base of the unit. Make sure the tank is firmly seated. Plug unit in to a 120 volt AC electrical outlet. Turn the mist adjustment knob clockwise to turn the unit on. Mist adjusts from Lowest output to Highest output. To increase the mist output, turn the MIST adjustment knob clockwise. To decrease mist output, turn the MIST adjustment knob counter-clockwise.Turn the knob counter clockwise until it clicks to turn it off.

my humidifier shoots out air but not mist. help please.

Asked by: cole
We would recommend cleaning the humidifier: TO CLEAN THE TANK Remove the water tank from the humidifier base by lifting it from the main unit. Unscrew the tank cap and rinse inside the tank with clean water. To remove any scale or build up, use a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and lukewarm water to clean the inside of the tank. TO CLEAN THE ULTRASONIC MEMBRANE Empty, rinse and dry the ultrasonic membrane and the reservoir before refilling. Pour a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water on the surface of the ultrasonic membrane and in the reservoir, then soak for five minutes. Brush clean with a soft-bristle brush and rinse. TO CLEAN THE SURFACE Clean the surface of the unit with a clean damp soft cloth as often as needed. You can also try to remove the water tank from the base and turn the tank upside down. Press and release the spring loaded valve in the center of the tank cap (it looks like a button) about 15 - 20 times. Reseat the tank onto the base of the humidifier. If this does not resolve the issue, please return the humidifier to the place of purchase for a replacement or contact Consumer Relations at 1-800-466-3342 Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. EST for assistance.
