Really needed the sound machine, and still love that, but lost the instructions in our move and cannot find ANYWHERE online, or otherwise (should be on the Homedics site, but NOT!) how to set the time! There is a time set button and when you hold it down, the hour or the minutes begin blinking, but NONE of the buttons move the time. What the hell?!

I loved this clock for the first 4 months. I unplugged it to bring it to the bathroom for rhe radio and now it dosent work AT ALL. It is blank, the projector is stuck on 9:42P.M and the sounds nor radio work.

Bought 2 of these and the plugs broke on both. When trying a new plug, both units quit working. Not too happy. The first one did not even last a year. The second one made it almost a year.

Bought 2 of these. Gave 1 as a gift to my Dad. It didn't work right so I gave him mine. It's really TOO complicated and does TOO much. He's older so he can't remember everything it does and it just aggravates him. It works for him though but he doesn't want to mess with it to do other things. I can't blame him. I'd probably have to get out the instruction booklet too. Wouldn't purchase again.

Overpriced box of gimmickery. Not user friendly. Projection feature is a joke. All aspects of this "appliance" are sub par!

I HAVE OWNED OTHER PROJECTOR CLOCKS IN THE PAST, BUT THIS SS-4520
IS SOMEWHAT AWKWARD BECAUSE TO SEE THE PROJECTED ON THE CEILING, YOU HAVE TO TURN THE CLOCK AROUND 180 DEGREES TO SEE THE TIME PROJECTED CORRECTLY FACEING YOU.
WHEN YOU WANT TO SEE THE FACE OF THE CLOCK, WITHOUT TURNING THE CLOCK AROUND AGAIN, IT IS BACKWARDS.
WHY DON'T "HOMEDICS" HAVE ONE THAT PROJECTS ON THE CEILING THE CORRECT WAY ?

Everything works great. The sounds are good, the only problem is at the lowest brightness setting the display is too bright

I was excited about this clock because of the price and the fact that it combined the sleep machine with the alarm clock, but it only took 5 mins to figure out that it wasn't going to work for me.
The first thing I notice when I plugged it in is the blue screen. Most alarms have a black screen with red or green numbers, but this screen is light blue with dark blue numbers. So when the light is on in the room you can barely make out the time, but when the light is off WHOA!!! The entire room lights up due to the large light colored screen. The clock does have a dimmer on it, but even on the dimmest setting It was like sleeping with a night light. I tried facing the clock to the wall and just using the projector feature, but again there was just way too much light for my comfort.
The second problem with the item is the sounds. I was very excited about the "fan" sound since I currently sleep with a fan on at night for the noise. Unfortunately the fan sounded more like TV static and was not soothing enough to fall asleep to. I tried out the "white noise" setting as well, but there is an audible clicking noise that occurs every few seconds, so this setting was rendered useless as well.
Overall this clock was a huge disappointment and is being returned to the store.
