This shiatsu smasager works great for me. It's the same shape as the lumbar pads used for officechairs but has the added bonus of shiatsu massage AND heat (I don't know what went wrong for the first reviewer but the heat works and the shape hits my back just fine). It has the same shiatsu quality as the full back smasagers from Homedics but lacks the bells and whistles because of its size and lower price. I like it because I am always leaning over my laptop doing work and this helps get the kinks out.

It free up tension in my upper back to my neck. I can fairly say it makes me sleep better than I used to.

My son bought this item for his mom but we all use it and we all enjoy the massage. My favorite is the mid/lower back, my son prefers the upper and my wife likes the whole back. Very useful when you have back tension due to stress or even just hard work, I work with steel all day so it is very comforting and relaxing.
