Foothbaths - FAQs

Why doesn't my footbath heat the water?

Only the JS-200 Jet Spa™ Ultra actually heats water. The heat function of our other footbaths is designed to help maintain the warm water temperature; it does not heat the water, but it delays the water's cooling, keeping it warm longer. You must always fill the footbath with warm water to begin with.

What does Double the Bubbles™ mean?

Double the Bubbles is a patented technology offered by HoMedics. Prior to this, all bubble tracks were straight. HoMedics changed the track to an "S” shape to cover more area with bubble track. Therefore, more bubbles are produced.

Can my footbath be used as a dry massager?

No. The footbath should not be used dry. It should only be used with water.

Can I use my footbath with Epsom salts or oil additives?

We recommend only oil additives be used with your footbath.

We do not recommend Epsom salts due to the fact that they will crystallize and block the holes in the unit. Should you choose to use a liquid additive, use them sparingly and be sure to clean the unit thoroughly after use.

How do I clean my footbath?

Unplug the footbath and empty all water. Wipe down with a soft cloth or use a mild cleanser to clean the walls of the tub. Rinse thoroughly so that no cleanser residue remains.

How much water do I fill the tub with, and what kind of water do I use?

There is a fill line on the inside of the tub. The water should be no higher than this line. Fill with regular tap water.

The water temperature in my footbath seems to be cooling very quickly. Is this normal?

The bubbles on these products are created by utilizing the air outside the footbath. Since the air is much cooler than the warm water temperature, this will cool the water quickly. However, the heat feature will help to maintain the heat while using the bubbles. Without it, the water would cool much quicker than 10-15 minutes.
